William Blake Snowden, Seventh Earl of Snowden, walked down Bond street. He was aware that this was the most dangerous place for a bachelor like himself to be walking, but he didn't care. The look in his eye was enought to send those whimpering, simpering milksops for the hills. If only he could say the same for the mothers, his mother for that matter. He strode confidently down the street, then stopped. Someone had caught his eye.

William smiled cynically. She had no lady's maid with her. Her reputaion as of now was in shambles. What more could it hurt for her to be seen talking to him. He strolled over and stood infornt of her. She was not looking straight ahead, so she would run into him, and he would be forced to catch her. But, the gentleman, that was hiding somehwere deep down, cried out for him to make his persence known.
"Excuse me ma'am." He grabbed her hand and bowed low over it, bringing it to his lips, "William Snowden, Sixth Earl of Snowden, at your service." His behavior was out of the ordinary, but how would she know? She didn't even have the knowlege of society to walk down the street accompanied by her maid.

William smiled wickedly down at her, "My pleasure, I'm sure. So where are you off too? And with out a maid I might add. London is no place for such happenings, my dear. It is a dangerous city. Are you off to find some bauble or 'nother to wear at an upcoming ball?" He knew clearly he had the upperhand here.

Georgiana was highly offend; she thought of more then the next ball "Actually I was trying to be rid of company, so if you would excuse me, Lord Snowden" she said with false pleasantness, she picked up her skirt so it wouldn't drag and began walking off toward the apartment her brother owned here in London....

(Just a little comment, Darcy, in the books, has a town house. Men who bring their sisters into town, don't rent apartments. And back then, they were refered to as 'lodgings'.)
William stepped infornt of her, blocking her way solidly, "Well, a pretty thing such as yourself must know that Bond street is not the place to rid one's self of company. In fact, any crowded street over flowing with memebers of the haut ton is a horrid place to be alone. Now if you decided to go to Pall Mall or Covent Gardens...maybe then you might find peace from society, but those are filled with gutter snipes."

Georgiana colored because she knew the truth in the man's words.... "My townhouse is only a couple of blocks away I'm sure I will be fine Lord Snowden" She said, this time leting some of her annoyance show......

"Please, call me William." His grin could melt ice, "I make a habbit, much to societys dismay, never to stand on ceremony. And, hate to point out, but if you ran into me, you must not be doing that fine."

Georgiana raised an eyebrow at that statement "Wel then Lord Snowden" she stressed "I shouldn't continue to be in your presence" she said once again with false pleasantness and once again turned to leave.... If her brother found out about this she would be in so much trouble

William reached out and staid her with a hand to her shoulder, "Please, I insist, call me William. Everyone does. Allow me to escort you to where ever it is that you seem to be in such a hurry to."

Elizabeth Bennet was walking up Bond Street when she saw a girl who looked to be no older than 17 years of age. It looked as if she was struggling to escape the attentions of a man who looked to be twice her age. Upon closer inspection, she saw that it was Georgianna Darcy, and hurried over to see what was going on.

thank goodness Georgiana thought when she saw Elizabeth. "Miss. Elizabeth, would you care to return to the townhouse with me?" she asked pleading with her eyes at Elizabeth

William spun on his heel to see a woman of one and twenty walking towards them. She was no more than half a dozen steps from him. He smiled, "Miss Elizabeth, is it? How lovely to meet you. I am Lord William Snowden, Earl of Snowden, at your service. I have offered to walk Miss Darcy to her townhouse, but she is reluctant. Do you know why?" William smiled.
