Elinor stood in the foyer of their new cottage. They were due to walk to the Smith's any moment now. Marianne was taking forever with her dressing. The poor kitchen maid, Marry, had to be called to help her dress. She didn't know why she was taking so long.

Marianne hurried down the stairs, not wishing to anger Elinor any more by delaying. Marianne simply wished to look her best to impress her relatives, as well as and possible suitors who might be visiting the Park.

"Finally!" Elinor threw up her hands. "We are late for lucheon. The coach has already came and picked up Margaret and Mother, so we must walk. Come," she said grabbing Marianne's hand and fairly dragging her out the door, "we must go at once."

"Elinor!" Marianne broke out, "Slow down, I can't keep up!" Truthfully, she didn't want to be too flushed or sweaty. She had heard rumors of a rather wealthy colonel...

"Fine, but if we are late, it is on your head. I hear a friend of Edwards is to be there today. I do not wish to miss him." Elinor could think of little else these days. Especaily since he did not deliver Margaret's atlas in person as he promised.

"Oh dearest, I know that you miss Edward, but really, you're boarding on obsession. The man loves you, if nothing else. You have nothing to worry about."

"It's not an obsession. It's that I worry about him with a sister like Fanny." Elinor was in no mood to debate this with Marianne.

"What could Fanny possibly do to Edward? She's probably gloating over her success at kicking us out of our own home," Marianne replied bitterly, "But 'tis no matter, for I can see the Park quite clearly now. We are almost there!"

"Thank the good Lord for small favors," Elinor muttered.

Marianne glared at her older sister. "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked angrily.

"Nothing, dearest. Let's go. They are most likely all waiting for us by now."

Marianne tossed her hair, crossed her arms over her chest, and began to walk, full of determination. She hoped to God that this friend of Edward would not be in attendance, and this colonel fellow would be.
"Hurry up, Elinor!" she huffed.

"I am comming. You do look lovely, you know." Elinor said in way of a truce.

"Thank you. As do you, dearest, like always." Elinor was too much of a pacifist at some times. It made her worry slightly for her older sister.

"Your welcome. Now, please do not flaunt yourself infront of the Colonel." Elinor worried for her sometimes.
