"Is there anything to discuss?" he asked, "for we are both in a huff, and I'm simply not sure whether I can be around you without feeling awkward."

Charlotte looked at him, "Well, that is just something we shall have to work on. Now I am not in a huff anymore, are you?"

"I'm not really sure." Charles frowned, "I don't know what to do"

"Well neither do I," Charlotte replied. "I don't have much practice."

"Neither do I" he admitted, "In fact, I can't remember the last human contact I've had."

"That is just not good for you. I am not critisizing, but it isn't." Charlotte reached a concerend hand out and touched his arm.

He flinched away, "Maybe I'm not ready for people." he frowned, "I was too quick and too nervous. Why did I do it?"

"I don't know, but please stay. It isn't good going without people. My friend Mary can attest to that. Besides," she smiled, "If you don't stick around, my parents might make me marry Mr. Colins." She shuddered comically, hoping to make him smile, if only a little.

"What's wrong with Mr.Collins?" he asked, "surely he'd be better than me."

Charlotte made a face. "The only thing he finds exciting is reading from Fort Dice's sermons. And his noble patroness Lady Debourgh is quite the hag."

"One step higher than mine still." Charles pouted, "I find nothing exciting, and only you interesting." he gave a small chuckle, "And I am no noble."

Charlotte blushed, no one had ever asked her something this blunt before. "I fell...that we have something. There is definately something here. Whether it is passion or lust, I know not, but something. You must know, I am a woman of six and twenty and have no hope for ever finding a husband. I have now become a financail burden upon my family. I have no where to go. I guess when I said we should elope earlier, I was a bit hasty, but now you know why and where I stand. How about you?"

"I do not know myself, where I stand." he frowned, "I know that any feelings are not lust, for I am above it. I have currently no wish to move from my present residing, I do have enough money to provide for an extra member in the house-hold. I am a male of twenty and seven years."

Charlotte smiled, "Did you think that if you married me, you would have to move away from your home? And about your comment about lust, no one is above lust. It is a natural feeling between two humans. It happens everyday, in every town, villiage or city. Even the savages of the colonies feel it. Nothing to be ashamed of. After all, I am a hoyden above feeling being ashamed of baser instincts."

"Lust is a sinful behaviour, and is only an unseemly sexual desire formed by the devil. I am above lust, as I am opposed to the devil." Charles huffed, "instictual maybe to some, but not to me."
